It’s all about her background, stupid
Who we are
Capital Briefings is a partner-owned business. Our backgrounds are in investment management, business journalism and professional events organisation. In our time we have sat through thousands of dismal business and financial presentations. We think ours are better – first class speakers, seamless organisation and spot on execution (with a bit of humour thrown in).
Most investment events I go to are nothing more than shameless, poorly delivered sales pitches. As a professional investor what I am looking for is independent, expert analysis from supremely well-informed speakers I can challenge face to face behind closed doors. Capital Briefings aim to provide just that.
My job in journalism involves chairing many business and financial events. There is an art to getting the best out of any expert speaker – and I like to think that those who come to Capital Briefings events will go away not only better informed, but entertained as well.
As an expert in event management I am still surprised to see topics poorly communicated and meetings haphazardly executed. The recipe for me is simple – first class professional coherent speakers, topical issues in fitting surroundings, underpinned by knowledgeable event management.
